Pisa:
40 minute drive or 1.5 hour train ride to LuccaFlorence:
1 hour drive or 2 hour train to LuccaRome:
3.5- 4 hour drive, 4-6 hour train to LuccaMilan:
3.5 hour drive, 5-6 hour train to LuccaPisa and Florence are the closest and easiest airports for reaching Lucca. If flights into either are pricey, consider flying into Rome, Milan or another European city and making a little adventure out of the journey!
We recommend setting flight alerts for multiple airports and arriving in Italy at least one day before the wedding festivities begin. Travel times are approximate, so be sure to check your specific route before booking.
Tips:
Once you land, there are three ways to get to Lucca:
Train
The easiest and most affordable option for most guests. Take the train to Lucca Station, then grab a taxi to the villas. We recommend using Trenitalia to view schedules and purchase tickets. You can book ahead or purchase tickets at the station. If you are traveling on a regional train, waiting until you arrive may give you more flexibility in case your flight is delayed or the train schedule changes.
Rent a Car
Best if you plan to explore Tuscany before or after the wedding. You will not need a car once you arrive since transportation for wedding events will be provided.
Private Driver
The easiest door to door option, but also the most expensive. Our coordinator has trusted local drivers who can take you directly from the airport to the villas. If you are interested in arranging a private driver, let Emma or Rhett know and we will happily share their contact information with you!
The short version: Train for convenience. Car for exploring. Private driver for the easiest arrival.
